Thanks to a bottle of prescription drugs equipped with a GPS tracking device, police were lead directly to a robbery suspect.
An employee at a CVS in Albuquerque, New Mexico told police officers two men came in shortly after the store opened and demanded Oxycontin pills. She gave them bottles of pills and included one with a tracking device on it. Detectives used the device to track down a vehicle and saw a man throw a bottle out of the window.
When police pursued the vehicle, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended without incident. The suspect admitted to the crime and was booked on charges of conspiracy to commit a third degree felony as well as tampering with evidence.
