Electric Vehicle Parade in Cupertino Hopes to Set New World Record

This Saturday Cupertino, California  will host what it hopes to be a world-record-setting electric vehicle parade.

Electric vehicle owners from all over will participate in the event held at De Anza College this coming weekend. Currently, there are 1,573 registered attendees including 28 Fiat 500e’s, 88 Tesla sedans, and 282 Nissan Leafs. Stuttgart, Germany set the current record with 481 vehicles. Nissan, SAP, Schneide Electric, PG&E, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, SF BayLeafs, and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Electric Auto Association are all sponsoring the event.

The parade begins at 8am and although online registration is closed, people can still participate–just be sure to arrive no later than 7:15am. Pre-registered early birds will also receive free coffee and donuts, a free tee, and a chance to win cash prizes.
