“MyStop” is a new program launched in South Bend, Indiana, using GPS devices to track school buses and allows parents to check on bus arrival times and routes using an app on either a smartphone or computer.
For some students, this means waiting in the warmth of their home instead of out in the cold. One mom has nothing but praise for the app, “It’s been great because I can send them out about two minutes before the bus is headed into our neighborhood so they aren’t standing out there in the cold or rain.”
The GPS tracking gives parents an estimated time of arrival and also lets parents check that the bus made it to the school safely.
