Fitbit users will soon be able to update their apps and take advantage of several new features, including GPS tracking.
Currently, GPS tracking is fairly limited to run-specific apps. With this update, users can track and record their run route and will be able to utilize stats like distance, mile time, and overall run time. Additionally, the update integrates improved food tracking tools like a more comprehensive food database.
The two updates will also work together to form “Calorie Coaching”. With this new feature, users “set a food plan with weight loss goals and see how many calories in vs. out they should be targeting each day, with access to easy to read charts to help them stay on track,” Fitbit stated in a press release.
Although the update is currently iOS exclusive, the new features will be available for Android users in the near future.
