One of the favorites among avid runners is the Garmin Forerunner 220, which is the only GPS watch with a color screen and picks up a satellite signal in just seconds. The watch also offers experienced runners detailed information about their route including cadence and elevation changes.
Another front-runner (pun intended) is the Nike+ Sportswatch. Although the satellite connection wasn’t as quick as Garmin’s, a shoe sensor ensures data is collected even if the GPS fails. The watch also features built-in run reminders for those runner who sometimes need a little extra motivation.
The Garmin Forerunner 220 retails for $250, while the starting price for Nike’s watch hovers around $140.
