UEFA Champions League to use Electric Vehicle Fleet

UEFA Champions League selects 100% electric vehicles as official transportNissan has become the official sponsor for the UEFA Champions League, supplying the all-electric Leaf and e-NV200 commercial van. The fleet of vehicles will be used to shuttle partners, delegates, and officials in Monaco.

Monaco is the annual host of EVER, the Ecological Vehicle and Renewable Energies conference, and boasts 287 charging stations–roughly one every 430 yards.

According to Jean-Pierre Diernaz, director of electric vehicles of Nissan Europe, “Nissan considers zero-emission vehicles to be the ultimate solution for realizing sustainable mobility in the future and is strongly committed to EV technologies. As the global leader in EV technologies, Nissan is delighted to work with UEFA to provide a zero-emission solution to the shuttle service and will continue to explore opportunities with the organisation to further enhance EV use across all UEFA Champions League activity.”
