Six decades worth of historic police cars cruised through London recently on their way to a new home as hundreds of people came out to watch the fleet procession. The fleet included a number of iconic vehicles like the 1948 Wolseley used in the Queen’s coronation and an armored vehicle with bullet proof glass.
Classic police bikes accompanied the fleet as they were driven from a police garage to Scotland Yard’s driving school.
According to Detective Sergeant Phil Hames, who manages the collection, “These vehicles are much more than old bits of metal – they are the heritage of the Metropolitan Police Service and all Londoners.”
