New York City has launched “Plow NYC,” an interactive GPS tracking system that tracks more than 1,700 salt spreaders and snow plows working tirelessly to clear streets in the five boroughs.
Residents can input their address to track snow plows on their street in real time. Chief Shari Pardini of the Department of Sanitation says, “They’ll have two options: to either view their snow removal designation, which will tell them if they’re [on a] primary, secondary, tertiary, or private street, or they can see when they were last serviced.”
Plow NYC is currently up and running through www.nyc.gov.
