FieldLogix is launching an update to its Goose app that includes pre trip inspection & post trip inspection capabilities as part of its new DVIR feature. With the new feature, drivers can perform vehicle inspections at the beginning and end of their shifts to ensure that their vehicles are in good operating condition. The results of the inspections are available in an on-line report for the fleet manager to review and quickly schedule repairs.
The DVIR feature includes:
How it helps fleets
Fleet drivers commonly use paper-based vehicle inspection forms to report vehicle safety issues. These forms are often incomplete or become lost in a stack of documents. Therefore, the data is not immediately available to the fleet manager, which often delays critical safety repairs. This can lead to costly accidents, more expensive repairs, and traffic violations. The new DVIR feature is designed to capture the vehicle inspection data electronically and provide the results to the fleet manager in a more timely and efficient manner.
“More fleets have been operating with remote employees over the past few years”, says company President, Yukon Palmer. “Since these employees rarely return to the office, paper-based vehicle inspection forms are no longer practical. We are launching the vehicle inspection feature to help fleets digitize their workflows to ensure that critical issues are being reported to fleet managers immediately.”
The DVIR feature is a new addition to the Goose application, which also includes features such as a mobile time clock, a dispatching application, ETA alerts, and dispatcher messaging. It is an add-on module and is available to fleets within our award-winning Field Resource Management platform.
