Wireless Fleet Management Helps AT&T Reduce Costs
AT&T credits their wireless fleet management solution, targeting commercial trucks and van fleets, as a key part of its going green initiative. Wireless fleet management has helped to reduce drivers’ idling times, better manage their daily miles driven, improved route planning, and reduced travel time, thereby reducing AT&T costs.
This year, AT&T plans to replace their retiring passenger vehicles with alternative-fuel models and use B-20 biodiesel on the 2012 Fan Zone Tour. By 2015, the company plans to deploy up to 8,000 compressed natural gas-powered service vehicles.
