Residents in Havana, Cuba have a new kind of taxi at their disposal–limos once used by president Fidel Castro. The Soviet-built vehicles are the newest members of the city’s fleet offering tourists a little taste of history.
Cubataxi came into possession of about 14 of Castro’s former limos five years ago. Moises Suarez, a driver of one of the limo taxis, told AP, “When I tell passengers where the car came from, they sit in the seat back there and stretch their legs and say, ‘I can’t believe it’.”
Although the limos have been a hit around the city, a military-style jeep was reportedly Castro’s preferred mode of transportation.
