All Island Taxi in Rockville Centre had Long Island authorities arrest six employees this year, including a receptionist and four drivers. The company’s dispatcher was suspected of theft and arrested as well.
The employees are accused of stealing from the company from January 2011 to February 2016.
Police believed the workers were stealing by failing to input drivers trips and calls, then they would split the profit. The workers stole a grand total of $158,000 from the company. After they were in custody, the official charges were grand larceny, conspiracy and falsifying business records.
Now would be a good time for the Taxi company to consider purchasing a GPS tracking system to further ensure their drivers and management are abiding by good business ethics. Adding a GPS tracking solution helps companies run more efficiently and encourage accountability. In this case, companies can even save hundreds of thousands of dollars by catching potential thieves.
FieldLogix’s GPS tracking solution includes features such as real-time tracking, aggressive driving alerts, stop detail reports and other alerts sent to management. Management and drivers alike can benefit by equipping their fleet with a tracking solution.
