Q. Does FieldLogix offer an open API?
A. Yes, we offer an open API that you can use to tie FieldLogix into a 3rd party system. We are also the only provider of the API Accelerator, which allows you to quickly integrate FieldLogix into most back-office software programs with minimal effort.
Q. Can FieldLogix send me automated e-mail reports?
A. Yes, we offer 7 automated reports that can be e-mailed to you daily or weekly for an individual vehicle, all vehicles, or a group of vehicles. The reports can be e-mailed to up to 8 recipients.
Billing for Cellular (Data) Services
Q. Who bills me for the cellular service?
A. You will receive one bill from us for the GPS monitoring and data services. All of the fees are displayed in your proposal.

A. We have been in business since 2002. For various reasons, we utilize 3rd party GPS devices for our system. This benefits us because it ensures that we use only the most reliable devices. This benefits you because you can take these devices and use them wherever you want should you ever wish to end our service.

A. We have been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2003, with an A+ rating, and are committed to their stringent ethics code. We also participate in the CTIA (Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association) events as well as CommNexus (The San Diego wireless industry association).
Cell Phone Access
Q. Can I view the tracking system on my cell phone?
A. We have a mobile version of the current vehicle/asset locations feature. You can view this info from any cellular phone with internet access. Many users access our standard system on their iPhones, Blackberrys and Android phones.
Q. What happens when vehicles drive outside of the coverage area?
A. Devices have an internal memory (store & forward) and they upload their past activity when they get back into a coverage area.
Q. Which cellular network do your devices operate on?
A. Our devices primarily utilize Sprint’s CDMA cellular network and automatically roam on different carriers’ networks if Sprint’s service is unavailable. Most other systems utilize AT&T’s GPRS network, which is scheduled to be decommissioned in 2017.
Commencement of Service Fees
Q. When does FieldLogix start charging for monthly service fees?
A. We start charging for monthly services only after your devices are installed or 90 days after product delivery, whichever comes first. This gives you adequate time to install your devices after delivery.
Q. What is your standard agreement term?
A. We offer month to month to 3 year agreement terms. The advantages to going with a longer term agreement includes a longer product warranty and discounted pricing. Agreements benefit our customers by ensuring that our monthly rates remain fixed for the duration of the agreement term.
Q. In which countries do you offer your service in?
A. We provide our services in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Covert Device Installation
Q. Can I have the devices installed without the drivers knowing that they are there?
A. Yes, the devices are installed behind the dash and the antenna is installed under the dashboard in most cases.
Q. What do I do if I have a problem with the system?
A. We provide U.S.-based technical support if you have a problem. You can call us at 888-803-0200, chat with us on-line within the system, or e-mail us at email@example.com. Our hours of operation are 8:00AM to 8:00PM Eastern.

Q. Can I download the reports to Microsoft Excel?
A. Yes, the data can be exported to Microsoft Excel.
Q. How long is my asset’s data stored in your system?
A. We store your asset’s history for 90 days. After 90 days, the oldest data is deleted first. Data older than 90 days is archived on our servers and may be retrieved upon request.
Q. Can I use my existing tracking devices on your system?
A. This may depend on the device. Currently, we are setup to work with many of the Enfora brand devices. Many other providers use proprietary hardware that only works with their software. You would have to put in a request to firstname.lastname@example.org to see if this is possible.
Q. Can I purchase an extended warranty to cover repairs after the initial warranty ends?
A. If a device fails after the warranty period, we simply charge a discounted replacement fee for a new device plus required labor fees (but no additional activation fees). Since our devices have a low failure rate, we cannot justify charging extended warranty (“insurance”) fees.
Installation Service – After Hours
Q. Can you install the devices on nights & weekends?
A. This may be arranged upon sufficient notice. There is an additional charge for after-hours installation services.
Q. Can FieldLogix provide installation services?
A. Yes, FieldLogix can either handle the device installation process directly or through a certified installation specialist. You must check with us at email@example.com to ensure that there is an installer in your area. There is an additional cost for installation services, which is based on the number of units and features.
Q. How long does it usually take to install each device?
A. Each device typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to install.
Life of Technology
Q. How long do your devices last?
A. Our devices are built to last 10-15 years.
Q. How accurate are your maps?
A. We use Google maps, which is one of the most accurate and up-to-date mapping systems available. We constantly add new features to our Google maps interface as they become available.
Map Street Updates
Q. How often are the streets on your maps updated?
A. The maps are updated on the server every quarter. This is done automatically and requires no involvement by you.
Q. Do I have to download any software on my PC’s?
A. No, all software is 100% web-based. You do not need anything special loaded on your PC to be able to view the maps.
Navigation in Vehicle
Q. Does your system provide in-vehicle navigation?
A. Yes. Our devices are compatible with many of the Garmin navigation devices. You can send new stops directly to the Garmin device to route your drivers from their current locations to the new stops. The Garmin devices also allow for 2 way text messaging with drivers.
Q. What payment options are available?
A. You can pay by check, by credit card (AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, Discover), or finance the equipment through our 3rd party finance partners. We will shop your application around to get you the best deal and your finance options are 12 to 48 month terms.
Q. Do you work locally, can you provide references?
A. We have customers throughout the US and we offer the same high quality service to our customers no matter where they are located. Remote Control of Vehicles
Q. Can I remotely control any aspect of my vehicles?
A. Due to potential liability and security reasons (for you and us), we do not offer the ability to control vehicles remotely.
Q. What happens if I decide that I do not like the service?
A. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee. If you wish to return the product, notify us in writing within 30 days and ship it back to us within 45 days of delivery, and we will refund you 100% of the hardware and activation fees.
Q. Can the system be integrated with my back-office software
A. Yes, integration is always possible. E-mail us at email@example.com so that we could verify compatibility with your back office software provider first. We offer the API Accelerator, which allows you to integrate FieldLogix into your back-office applications without requiring software development work.
Q. How often do you release software updates, what are the charges?
A. Software improvements are usually made every quarter and they are added to your system at no extra cost.
Q. How will I know if my vehicles are speeding?
A. You will receive an e-mail alert and a message within FieldLogix when the event occurs. You can also review the incidents in your historical reports.
Switching GPS devices between vehicles
Q. Can I remove the device from one vehicle and install it in another?
A. If you perform the removal and installation services yourself, there will be no charge from us. If you wish to have us arrange the removal and installation services, there will be a nominal cost to provide the service.
System Access Levels
Q. Can I have multiple passwords and restrict access to certain features for certain users?
A. Yes, we currently offer multiple log in capabilities. You can also restrict which features and vehicles your users can see when they log in.
Tampering of Devices
Q. How do I know if a device has been tampered with?
A. Our system alerts you if the device has been unplugged. Devices are supposed to report to us at least once each day, even if the vehicle has been parked. If we don’t see this, or regular activity, FieldLogix automatically e-mails you a notification of a non-functioning unit. The devices are installed with a tamper seal that would indicate whether the device was unplugged or tampered with in any way.
Q. Does FieldLogix offer a trial unit that allows me to try the system without a commitment?
A. Yes, we offer a unit that you can try by plugging into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter for 30 days.
Input Sensors (Telematics)
Q. Can I use your devices to record certain events such as PTO on/off, door open, door close, etc?
A. Yes. We allow for 2 telematics inputs. You can connect our devices to an electronic switch to allow our system to record each time that switch is triggered.
Vehicle Battery Drain
Q. Does the system drain my vehicle’s battery while it is parked?
A. Our devices are designed so that they don’t drain the vehicle’s battery. When the vehicle’s ignition is off, all devices go into a low power state, where they draw voltage that is equivalent to an in-dash radio’s clock.
Q. Does the system work on all vehicles?
A. Yes. Our devices are designed to work on any vehicle that has a power supply in the range of 12 volts to 30 volts
Q. Can the device disable the vehicle upon my request?
A. Due to security & liability reasons (for you and us), we do not offer the ability to disable vehicles remotely.
Q. How long is the warranty?
A. Installation labor is warrantied for 60 days, parts and labor for GPS devices are warrantied for the same period as your service agreement. Therefore, if you sign up for a 1 year agreement, the warranty is for 1 year, if a 2 year agreement, the warranty is for 2 years, and so on. If we arrange the installation services, we will cover the labor costs for the technician visits for warranty-covered repairs.
